Expert Rifleman is the class where we ditch the guesswork and dial in real mid-range marksmanship. We’re talking proper zeroing, holdovers, wind calls, and field shooting positions that don’t come from Call of Duty. If you want to shoot like a professional, not just look like one on Instagram, this is where it starts. Bring your rifle, your optic, and your ego: we’ll tune up at least two of those.

This is a no-BS, mid-range rifle course built around the scoped AR-15, where you’ll learn to make accurate, repeatable hits from 100 to 300+ yards — under pressure, from real-world positions. We’ll zero you properly, push your fundamentals, and crush bad habits like they owe us money. If you’re ready to stop LARPing and start performing, saddle up. Let’s get to work.

STANDBY

Most Patriot Training classes sell out quickly. However, we frequently have participants who have schedule changes, and cannot make the class they bought for whatever reason. Therefore, we offer a "STANDBY" list. Of course, this does not guarantee you a spot. However, most classes get one or two reschedules - usually the last week right before class. 

IF this class sells out, email us and we will put you on standby for the class at no charge. Of course, if a spot opens up, then you will need to act quickly to buy that spot!

• For those who use an LPVO (Low Power Variable Optic), this class is an LPVO Master Class!

GUNS & GEAR NEEDED

• AR-15 rifle, preferably chambered in .223/5.56...  13.7" & up length barrel.     
  • If you have an SPR, this is a great class for it! 
  • If you have a GPR, this is a great class for it!
  • If you have a DMR, this is a great class for it! 
  • Loaners available!  (Please bring factory 55 gr brass cased .223 Rem or 5.56 mm ammo)
  • .308 or 6.5CM in an AR10 platform are welcome.
• OPTIC: 4x or greater magnification.    
  • The IDEAL optic for an AR platform is a low power variable optic (LPVO). 1-4x, 1-6x, 1-8x, etc. 
  • Also GREAT is an MPVO (Mid-power variable optic) such as 2-10x or similar. 
  • ACOGs, Elcans, and Prisms do VERY well in this class! - 4x, 5x, etc. 
  • Red dot + magnifier is welcome.
  • Iron sights only - NO!
  • Red dot only - NO! 
• 4+ magazines, minimum. Please prep mags ahead of class. (a handful of AR-15 loaner magazines will be available) 
• 400 rounds of ammo, minimum - same brand / same type. 500+ rounds is ideal.
• 5 Snap caps - ONLY IF YOU ARE NOT USING .223 / 5.56
  • IF you are bringing 6.5, bring snap caps. 
  • IF you are bringing .308, bring snap caps. 
  • etc.
  • We provide loaner .223 snap caps. 
• A sling to carry your rifle with. (Patriot Training recommends a 2-point Vickers sling, a Magpul MS style sling, or similar.)
• A BACKPACK to rest your rifle on and carry gear with.(see video)
• Range appropriate clothing
• Food & Water

• Sunscreen & bug spray

DO NOT BRING

• DO NOT BRING A BOLT ACTION RIFLE TO EXPERT RIFLEMAN. 
• Do not bring an AK or SKS to EXPERT RIFLEMAN - this is an AR-15 class. 
• Do not bring a .300 Blackout AR15. It is not designed for mid-range. 
• Do not bring a PCC or .22LR rifle to Expert Rifleman. They are not designed for mid-range. 
• Bipods are not forbidden, but we will not be using them. Literally, the FIRST thing we will do is have you remove it for the weekend. 
• Do not bring green tip or armor piercing ammo - we will be shooting steel targets. 
• Do not bring Steel cased ammo for AR-15s - you will hate yourself. 
• Do not bring Hand loaded or remanufactured ammunition. Bring factory ammo only. 
• Do not bring Mixed brands/types of ammo - bring a single brand and type
