This advanced home defense class is perfect for new shooters, experienced shooters, and current / former law enforcement and military. The sole purpose of Essential Home Defense is to take you from the typical gun owner who knows how to shoot and transform you into a trained gunfighter who is prepared to survive a violent threat. 

This collaborative class between Middle Tennessee Firearms Training and Patriot Training will feature three instructors, each teaching one of the topics. You won't want to miss this once in a lifetime event!

GUNS & GEAR

HANDGUN

• Your safe, functional handgun. Revolvers and semi autos all welcome. 
• 150 handgun rounds. 
• Quality holster optional. 
• 2+ magazines for magazine fed pistols
• 2 speed loaders for revolvers optional. 

SHOTGUN

• Your safe, functional shotgun. Semi auto, pump, lever, bolt, and break action all welcome.
• Highly recommended: Some means to carry extra ammo on the shotgun. (Shell Sleeve / holder - Side saddle or buttstock cuff attachment.)  
• 100 rounds birdshot ammunition - same brand, same type.  
• 15 rounds buckshot.  Suggested loads:
  • Federal Flite Control 8-pellet
  • Federal Flite Control 9-pellet
  • Hornady TAP Low recoil
  • Winchester Ranger
  • Speer Lawman

RIFLE

• Your safe, functional rifle. Semi auto, pump, lever, bolt, and break action all welcome. 
• 2+ magazines for external box fed magazine rifles. 
• Highly recommended: For rifles that do not accept external box magazines, Some means to carry extra ammo on the rifle. (Cartridge Sleeve / holder)  
• 100 rounds rifle ammunition - same brand, same type.  

GEAR NEEDED

• notepad & pen

• Range appropriate clothing

• Medical kit / IFAK optional
• Lawn Chairs (optional)

• If you wear prescription lenses / glasses - BRING THEM!  

DO NOT  BRING TO CLASS:

• Steel cased ammo, unless it is for your AK / SKS rifle.  
• Hand loaded or remanufactured ammunition. Bring factory ammo only. 
• Mixed brands/types of ammo - bring a single brand and type
