Instructor / Assistant Qualifications:
1. A desire to teach / coach / help.
2. To become an RSO (Range Safety Officer), a person must have
- Taken the Patriot Training Instructor Certification class (it is a class in professionalism, and detailing what we provide, how we provide it, and why). Nobody, regardless of credentials, will be allowed to instruct, assist, or RSO without first having this class.
- Suggested: Have taken the class they wish to assist with. It is impossible to deliver a product without first being familiar with the exact product.
3. To become an Assistant Instructor
- Have served as an RSO 10 times.
- Have served at least twice as an RSO in the class they wish to assist with. It is impossible to deliver a product without first being familiar with the exact product.
- Have taken the class they wish to assist with. It is impossible to deliver a product without first being familiar with the exact product.
4. To be a Full Instructor – in addition to number 1 and number 2 above, a person must also:
- Have civilian Certification in the broad discipline they will be teaching – usually NRA or USCCA. Pistol certified to teach pistol classes. Rifle certified to teach rifles. Shotgun certified to teach shotgun.
- Have An active Instructor Liability Insurance Policy.
- Have received Medical Training – Stop the Bleed or TCCC or Essential Medical at a minimum.
- Have The ability to teach the class completely solo, if needed.
- Have taken / assisted / served as RSO in that class a minimum of six times.
- Have served as an AI at least 10 total times.
- Have known and been part of the Patriot Training community no less than 2 years.

RSO
Once you pass the instructor certification class, you are certified as a Range Safety Officer - RSO.
Assistant Instructor (AI)
An RSO who volunteers at 10 classes can become an Assistant Instructor. Also, to be an Assistant, you must have taken the class at least once, and have worked that class as an RSO at least two additional times.
Instructor
A person who has worked 10 events as an AI, who has professional certification in the discipline (Rifle certified to teach rifle class, etc.), who has professional liability insurance, and who has the ability to teach every segment without assistance can become an Instructor.
